I was not going to do this challenge. I’m in the middle of my third draft and have a few other illustration projects on the go.
But, then they had to go and make a challenge that just happened to parallel a story I’ve already written. Dang it. I love the contrast between a pretty and delicate fairy and her unlikely slimy and crawly friends, and I loved having the extra motivation to draw her up.
Oh, and I did some modeling hacks to help me figure out poses this time. I actually really loved this! Super cheap wooden model, tinfoil ball (because I like big heads), some modeling clay to help with the main features, and a taped up paper hat.

Well, using the model I was able to sketch over my image and come up with this:
