Animals with Verbs! Squirrel with ‘Build’ .
When I was studying and learning to draw squirrels, it struck me that there were a bunch of different colours of squirrels out there. I liked that I got to use 3 different squirrel colours in this one! I never knew I’d get to know the browns so well…But all these woodland creatures have been so interesting to get to colour and try to make vibrant. In one of Will Terry’s colour classes at SVSlearn.com, he talks about how challenging those forest animals can be to colour since our brain just wants to make them all brown. But really, browns are a variation of some colour, and there is a vibrancy hiding within. Also, by going up and down the colour wheel when you lighten and darken your shapes, you can bring a nice depth to your colours too.
