Animals with Verbs! Hawk with ‘Saw’ .
I pick interesting verbs.
I worry about some of these choices. They are not cute or adorable or sweet. They won’t get as many ‘likes’ as those, “AWWWWWW” ones.
But a whole story of animals looking cute isn’t much of a story. What if the hawks needed to build a new house? Who could they turn to? Adorable sleeping fluffy buns?
Nope.
They’d call Fixit Hawk.
Maybe it’s my strong Richard Scarry roots. Man I love those stories. All the characters and vehicles and stories and illustrative humour. They are very influential on my vision of who I want to be when I grow up as an illustrator.
Fixit Hawk, take it away:
This was another time of, do I tell more story or just focus on the character and verb…?
See, in this one, to me, he is building for a reason. Apparently Hawks need constructed tree houses, so he saws.
But my test audience (my 13 year old), said it was too much.
So we’ll go with simple. You’ll have to decide why he’s sawing.
