Formulas!

I’m listening to Creative Composition 2.0 on SVSlearn.com (apparently this is a better place to start than learning to draw all the things at once in the Draw 50 Things class), and I’m such a geek that I’m almost crying. I’m so happy to hear that there is a logical and structural way to approach art. I have had this mindset that this is something people just know how to do. That people do art because they are good at art,
… instead of being good at art because they do art.
That would be silly, right?

And then Will Terry compares art composition to writing an essay.
I love writing essays! Because I’m good at the essay writing formula. And if someone who is killing it at this illustration business says I can learn, that makes me very, very hopeful. I’m so excited to learn the formula for art!
