Perspective

This will be a saga of posts, I’m sure.

I have ignored perspective as much as possible.
Apparently this isn’t good practice.

Side Note of the random paper sketches you might see:
We have a lot of scrap paper in our house, so I’m happy to add my practice lines (made with scrappy pencils) to that. The scribbles and creatures and characters that have been created by children add a bit more personality to my practice, too.

Perspective hurts my brain. At the end of this exercise, though, I think I was getting better at figuring out which lines were supposed to be ‘flat’ (90degree?) horizontal and which ones were supposed to be ‘perspectivey’ horizontal.
Snort.
I can’t even explain what I don’t understand.

[A little friend of my son just stopped by my table, looked at my borrowed scrap paper and said, “Did you draw that human? It’s really bad.” So I drew a few friends for that little sword holding human who is brave enough to defend the town despite the fact that he was drawn by a 5 year old.

Be brave, little one. We’re depending on you.]

But I feel pretty proud of myself for the attempt!

[Another son dropped by just now and asked why the fighter was so much bigger than the rest of the people. “He must be a giant!”

I had not noticed.

Back to my perspective practice.]
