We went on a field trip Friday. Our national park had a fire blaze through it three years ago, so the landscape features a lot of burned trees and bare mountains. But you can see the hint of fall beauty in the undergrowth.
Yes. That is my son. Yes, he is wearing a dragon hoodie and a wizard cape on our hike.

I tried to go in and paint a lighter stem, but it got a bit too blorky, and I couldn’t fix it with more paint. I was going to toss it, but then I had a son come by and say it was his favourite one of all the leaves.
So now it can stay.
