Survival Year

Ever have a year not go quite the way you had planned? Where you come out the other side with gratitude and faith strengthened beyond measure?
Last June my husband broke his back after a biking accident. His helmet was shattered. Ribs and sternum were broken as well. Miraculously, against all rights, he’s still here. Still talking. Still walking.
I am so grateful to be on the other side of this. I know other journeys take much longer, and have much different outcomes. My heart goes out to you if you are experiencing one of those unexpected trials.
I feel like, even though physical healing has been straightforward, there is still some mental healing. Figuring out how to keep going about life when it seems so fragile.
Thankfully, art and writing has provided an outlet and focus for moments that seem to spiral out of control. And with life feeling like it’s becoming steady again, I’m hoping to post and share a bit more about the projects I’ve been working on.

Hope this finds you well. And if it finds you on a different journey than you were expecting, please know you are not alone.
