So, I think my posting plan for December is to post about the some easy crafting creations and projects I work on with the kids. I have pictures for a picture book I’m working on, which I hope to share when they’re done, and I’m working on a 2nd draft of my novel, which I also hope to share when it’s done. I was thinking about working on backgrounds and landscapes for December, but I think that might just be one project too many (you know, in addition to homeschooling and keeping a house running and getting ready for Christmas and such, lol).
First up:
I wanted to do some wood carving with the kids, but also wanted to make sure they knew the basic safety precautions and understood how to plan and carve a block into the shape they were hoping to make.
So we started with soap.
For someone with perspective issues, this actually hurts my brain a lot. But I was able to make a cute bear in the end.
(My oldest made the fish. They really wanted to be together: the bear kept sliding down the chair towards the fish, and I had to be quick to take a pic before they went nose to nose each time I tried…)
